Garland is having a strong year, averaging 20.8 points and shooting 47.6% from the field. Donovan Mitchell missed the last game with a groin issue but is expected back. Jarrett Allen and Sam Merrill both scored in double figures, and the team had six players with at least 11 points in Portland.
Cleveland leads the league with 28 road wins and is 30-5 at home. The Cavaliers are top 10 in defense, allowing just 111.8 points per game. They also rank top five in assists per game and top 10 in shooting percentage, showing their balance on both ends.
Spurs Preview – Tough Stretch Ahead Without Wembanyama
San Antonio enters this game after a 122-96 loss to Detroit on Tuesday. Devin Vassell led the Spurs with 26 points, while rookie Stephon Castle added 19. The Spurs shot just 22.2% in the first half and scored only 12 points in the second quarter.
Victor Wembanyama remains out for the season, and the team is also missing key depth with Charles Bassey and De’Aaron Fox unavailable. The Spurs are still chasing the final play-in spot but sit 3.5 games back with 11 left to play. They had won three in a row before the loss in Detroit.
San Antonio ranks middle of the pack in scoring at 114.3 points per game. They are a top-five team in assists and blocks, but consistency has been a problem. They are just 11-23 on the road this season and will need a better start to compete with Cleveland’s depth.
